The second practice session for the 2012 European Grand Prix would see Williams F1 driver Bruno Senna finish fifth. Team-mate Pastor Maldonado, fastest in the first session, would finish in thirteenth. Combining the two sessions it is a very positive start to the weekend for the Williams team.

With Pastor Maldonado fastest in the opening Friday practice session for the 2012 European Grand Prix the Williams F1 team would see Bruno Senna replace Valtteri Bottas. Both Williams drivers would take to the track early in the session and Bruno would set a 1m43.132.

Pastor was fastest at this time with a 1m:41.133. His time would be beaten by Button but Pastor would respond with a 1m:40.557. With forty minutes of the session complete Bruno would set a 1m:40.838 to be twelfth, set on medium tyres. But as the session continued we would see drivers start to run on the soft tyre. Vettel would be fastest from Schumacher and Bruno now third after setting  a1m:39.644 on the soft tyres.

Pastor would also complete a run on the softer tyre, having set a 1m:40.075 to be thirteenth. Bruno's fifth fastest time showed that the Williams team has a reasonable level of pace that should allow them to be competitive over the weekend.
