| After the
Christmas and New Year break the BMW WilliamsF1 team returned to Spain for
another round of testing, with Ralf Schumacher and Marc Gene conducting the
testing for the day.
The
team was presented by a track that had been affected by overnight rain,
seeing the team having to wait until early afternoon before any serious
testing could start. At
the end of the day Ralf would complete eighty two laps with Marc forty two.
Both drivers again focused on development work for the 2003 FW25. Ralf would
set the fastest time of the day with a lap of 1m:20.831.
WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager said:
“After the New Year break, the team was the first to take to the track here
in Jerez. We are expecting Ferrari to join us
tomorrow, and Renault the day after. It rained overnight, so the conditions
were not exactly ideal and we really had to wait until 12.30 for a
completely dry track. Not withstanding that, Ralf managed good mileage
today, ably assisted by Marc. We will run at Jerez until Thursday, and
should manage a constructive programme of work in this time.” |
