The final practice session for the 2014 Bahrain GP would see Williams Martini drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa finish in 4th and 5th. In a session that saw the Williams team limit their track time both Valtteri and Felipe were able to quickly stamp their presence on both the medium and soft tyre, even if they are still some way off the pace of the quickest times.

The third practice session would get underway with a rush of drivers coming out. Everyone was on the medium tyre for their first run with Vergne first out. They would complete their installation laps pitting with Sutil completing a second lap. The Williams Martini drivers would come out quite late while out on the track Sutil would set a 1m:44.515. The track was now empty with neither Williams or McLaren having sent their cars out. Both just so happen to be Mercedes powered cars. Next out would be Ericsson in his Caterham. Williams would comment that this session was being run in very hot and sunny conditions which is not representative on when qualifying and the race would take place. Kobayashi and both Lotus cars would take to the track as Ericsson set a 1m:42.360.

Gutierrez was next out joined by Ricciardo. Maldonado was now fastest, 1m:41.275, followed by Grosjean and Ericsson. Both Torro Rosso cars would come out with Vergne leading Kvyat. We also had Raikkonen out on the track as Grosjean complained of not front grip. Kobayashi would go off at Turn eleven as Ricciardo went fastest in sector two with forty four minutes remaining. Gutierrez was now fastest with a 1m:40.425. The times were somewhat of their Friday pace but it was expected that drivers were running higher fuel. Drivers started to go quicker with Ricciardo going quickest with a 1m:39.672 but Kvyat would move past with a 1m:38.666. Vettel was also out and would join Kobayashi in going off at Turn eleven. Magnussen was also out on the track with the order Kvyat from Ricciardo, Vergne, Gutierrez, and Maldonado. But both Ferrari's would join in with Raikkonen now second, 1m:38.991, and Alonso third, 1m:39.187.

Vettel was now in fourth, 1m:39.225 as Ricciardo pitted. Magnussen was now fifth, 1m:39.585, as both Williams cars stayed in their pits. Both Mercedes cars were now out on the track as Vettel pitted. Magnussen would also run wide at Turn eleven with it seeming that high winds weer catching the drivers out at this corner. Both Force India cars would return to the track, joined by Button. Only fourteen drivers had set times as the front running drivers returned to their pits. Hamilton would go straight to the top of the times with a 1m:37.340 with thirty three minutes remaining. Team-mate Rosberg was down in ninth, 1m:40.567, as Hulkenberg was able to move into second, 1m:38.422, but Button would take this spot with a 1m:38.297, having gone fastest in the final sector.

For Williams Valtteri and Felipe would both get into their cars getting ready to come out just over half of the session remaining. Rosberg would go fastest with a 1m:37.252 from Hamilton and Button. Both Williams cars would come out for their first timed runs in the session both on the medium tyre. Kvyat was now fifth followed by Perez, Raikkonen, Alonso, and Vettel. Both Williams cars would start their first timed lap with Felipe slightly quicker in sector one. Valtteri would finish his lap with a 1m:38.124 to be third. Felipe would follow his team-mate in moving to fourth with a time of 1m:38.134 to be just 0.01 behind Valtteri. Valtteri had lost a bit of time in the final corner. Other drivers running wide at Turn eleven included
Rosberg and Hulkenberg.

We now had Raikkonen and Maldonado out on the soft tyre as Vettel would go off at Turn two ending stuck in the gravel. From the tyre marks it looked he had spun backwards off the track in what looked like a driver error. Both Williams drivers would pit after just four laps with just under twenty minutes remaining. Both Lotus cars were out on the track on the soft tyre. It should be remembered that Ricciardo was due to take a ten place grid penalty for an unsafe release in the Malaysian Grand Prix. The track was quite clear with drivers getting ready for their soft tyre runs. With fifteen minutes remaining both Ferrari's were out on their soft tyres. Rosberg was also out, joined by Hamilton. But Raikkonen would pit without setting a time as Ricciardo also came out. The Williams team was preparing their cars for the qualifying simulations. Hulkenberg was next out as Alonso also pitted. Rosberg and Hamilton would swap fastest sectors with Rosberg setting a 1m:35.439 but Hamilton would set a 1m:35.324 to go quicker.

Ten minutes remaining with Ricciardo moving up to third with a 1m:37.119. Hulkenberg on the soft tyre would set a 1m:36.455 to be third. Valtteri and Felipe were now fifth and sixth as Button came out. Both Ferrari's were also out on the track again as Perez moved into third, 1m:35.868, with Gutierrez now sixth. Perez was sixth tenths ahead of team-mate Hulkenberg as Valtteri became the first Williams to come out on their soft tyre run. Felipe would also come out with the track now very busy. Hamilton and Ricciardo would pit, joined by Rosberg. Alonso would go fourth, 1m:36.454, with Perez pitting. Kobayashi would move up to fourteenth with Raikkonen only managing a 1m:36.772 seeing him in seventh as other drivers went quicker. Button was now fourth, 1m:36.394, as Valtteri set a 1m:36.116 to move ahead of Button. Kvyat was now eighth, 1m:36.680, with Felipe on a quicker lap.

Felipe would finish his lap with a 1m:36.364, seeing Valtteri 0.248 seconds quicker. Valtteri and Felipe were still some way off the pace of the Mercedes cars. Valtteri was 0.792 and Felipe 1.040 behind the quickest time of Hamilton. Button was now sixth followed by Alonso, Hulkenberg, Kvyat, and Raikkonen tenth. Hamilton would remain quickest from Rosberg, Perez, Valtteri and Felipe. But both Williams drivers had only run four laps on the medium tyre and for Valtteri five laps on the soft and Felipe three. The track would clear as the session came to an end. Once again the Williams drivers were limiting their track time at a circuit which they know very well. Mercedes would be happy with the fact that the top six cars were all Mercedes powered. Both Williams drivers would complete their usual pit stops upon returning to their garages with the Valtteri and Felipe fourth and fifth.
