| Again the
BMW WilliamsF1 team came away from their days testing at the "Circuit
de Catalunya Valenciana Ricardo Tormo" with Juan Pablo Montoya setting the
fastest time. Juan Pablo was again joined by Ralf Schumacher and Marc Gené.
The team would spend the day
conducting a mixture of tests with Juan Pablo conducting loner runs with the
FW25 in the afternoon, as well as tyre tests with the FW24. Juan Pablo would
complete one hundred and four laps over the course of the day, a total
of 416.52 kilometres.
His best time of the day would be a lap time of
1m:10.556. This would be almost a second faster than the second placed
driver Jaguar's Mark Webber.
Spaniard Marc Gene and German Ralf Schumacher followed in the second and
third. Marc would complete sixty two laps whilst conducting set-up work.
Ralf would only complete twenty two laps having suffered a broken drive
shaft in the morning session. Marc would set a best time of 1m:12.485 while
Ralf did a 1m:12.634.
For WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager
Tim Newton he spoke of the day by saying:
“The test team worked really hard today as again we had all three drivers on
the track in three cars. Juan completed a successful race simulation in
addition to some tyre work driving an FW24. Marc was running an FW25 for
continued systems and set-up work and Ralf who was also in an FW25 was
assisting the team in some practice race situations."
