| For BMW
WilliamsF1 driver Ralf Schumacher last weekends Malaysian Grand Prix would
see him start in seventeenth position but by the end of the race he had come
through the field to finish an excellent fourth.
For
Ralf this race result supported the view that the situation with the new
FW25 is far better than he had originally indicated. Ralf's race would see
him finish a race that everyone admitted would be hard on both car and
driver.
Ralf commented on the Grand
Prix by saying: "We did a great step forward. I knew in advance that
Malaysia was going to be a hard race."
But Ralf was let down by his
poor qualifying performance which made his task of moving through the field
that much more difficult. But he was able to do so and went on to finish
fourth.
The result in Malaysia has certainly helped in Ralf's confidence that the
team can perform well in the races to come. In comments on the BMW
Motorsport web site Ralf explained this confidence by saying: "Now, after
the race, I know for sure that we definitively have a car that is able to
win and is going to win many races. That much is certain."
Now as we wait for the next round of the championship in Brazil Ralf, who
has six points, is still in a position from where he can challenge for the
championship. Come the European races the FW25 is expected to benefit even
more from development parts. |
