| Barcelona Test 26:03:2003 Day Two of four | |
As the
team faced an overcast and colder day at the Circuit de Catalunya they would
continue their four day test with Juan Pablo Montoya and Marc Gene again
carrying out the driving duties. For the team it was again a day of further
improving the new FW25. The
conditions were not ideal for tyre testing as the track did not have the
necessary temperature for the teams Michelin tyres. Marc would focus on tyre
testing using a modified FW24.At the end of the day test driver Marc Gené would complete eighty five laps, with a best lap time of 1m:16.138. This would be the third fastest time just behind McLaren's David Coulthard. For Juan Pablo Montoya his best lap time was a 1m:16.371s, which was good enough for fourth. For Marc his tyre testing would consist of testing new tyre constructions and mixtures that were designed for the Interlagos circuit, host of the Brazilian GP in two weeks. For Pablo Montoya his testing continued to focus on different set up works on the chassis. WilliamsF1 Test Team Manger Tim Newton commented: "We had a similar weather conditions as yesterday. Marc completed a tyre test with Michelin while Juan concentrated on set-up comparisons and chassis work. We will be joined by Ralf tomorrow“. |
