Delighted with decision

For BMW WilliamsF1 driver Ralf Schumacher the decision handed down yesterday that saw him have his German Grand Prix penalty changed was one that he viewed with delight as it allows him to compete in this weekends Hungarian Grand Prix with out the burden on having to lose ten places on the starting grid.

Previously Ralf was to lose places on the starting grid from his qualification position at the Hungaroring, but an FIA appeal court imposed a $50,000 fine instead.

Ralf said: "I was delighted with the decision. After yesterday's hearing, I didn't expect too much, but I am very happy with the conclusion that was reached."

Team boss Frank Williams added: "We are delighted that the FIA court of appeal saw fit to remove the serious penalty of a 10-place demotion on the starting grid for the next race.

"The substitution of a financial penalty at least means we can compete in Hungary with Ralf still in a competitive position in both championships."
