| As is
always the case in Formula One the rumours regarding Ralf Schumacher's
absence from the team fuelled speculation that he would not be present at
the next Grand Prix in the United States, or even possibly Japan.
But Ralf has spoken to deny such
claims. On his web site Ralf said: "I am very amused to hear and read these
rumours about who will be taking my place for the final two races. I can
only say this: it will just remain speculation."
"I'm doing everything to be really fit again and of course assume that I'll
be in Indianapolis. Everything else is rubbish," he added.
The rumours even suggested that Jacques Villeneuve could be brought into the
team from BAR, to drive at the final two races at Indianapolis on September
28 and the final round is in Suzuka, Japan, on October 12. Again such
rumours were denied by Frank Williams. Villeneuve's availability is based on
the view that he will be replaced by BAR after a poor season.
"I think that's wishful thinking from the French-speaking part of Canada,"
said: Frank Williams. |
