Valencia Test 26:11:2003 Day Two of Three

The BMW WilliamsF1 completed their second day of testing at the Valencia circuit with Ralf Schumacher setting the fastest lap time of the day. Second was Juan Pablo Montoya closely followed by Renault's Jarno Trulli third. Test driver Marc Gene ended the day eighth fastest.

The weather at the track saw temperatures reach some 17 degree Celsius and it was overcast. Joining WilliamsF1 at the circuit were other Michelin supplied teams McLaren, Renault, Jaguar and Toyota.

The team continued to put further development miles on the 2004 BMW P84 engine. Ralf Schumacher focusing on tyre evaluation tests, covered eighty one laps with a best time of 1m:10.321 to set the fastest lap time of the day.

For team mate Juan Pablo his time was only fractions slower at 1m:10.349, completing sixty six laps. Juan Pablo worked on the set-up and on engine mappings. Test driver Marc Gené worked on suspension setups, completing twenty laps with a best time of 1m:11.741.

"We had another successful day's running today," commented Tim Newton, Williams's Test Team Manager, "with all three drivers performing similar duties to yesterday, including useful tyre and chassis testing as well as further evaluation work on the new gearbox. We also did some practice starts in preparation for the new regulations for 2004."
