New aero package fro French GP

The BMW WilliamsF1 team is working hard towards introducing improvements for the FW26. The first of these major improvements will be seen at the French Grand Prix, July 4th, when the car will have a new aero package.

The developments will be the first under the guidance of new WilliamsF1 Technical Director Sam Michael. The FW26 has been improved over the course of the opening races of the season but has not meet the expectations of either the team or drivers.

On the WilliaqmsF1 web site Michael said: "Our plan is to get back to the front. And I can see how to do it with this car. The people who are working for me can see it too"

Team boss Frank Williams supports Michel. He added: "Last year we cracked it and although we are struggling a little with the car, if the plan goes well then from the French Grand Prix we should start to deliver. The car has got life in it yet."

As for the drivers Juan Pablo hopes that the new package is worth half-a-second per lap. He said: "If it is then maybe we can close up on Ferrari. But maybe it's only two-tenths so you never know."
