| Jerez Test 23:06:2004 Day One | |
| After the
disappointment of the United States Grand Prix the BMW
WilliamsF1 Team was back testing this time at the Jerez circuit, as they
prepare for the French and British Grand Prix. Present today were test
drivers Marc Gene and Antonio Pizzonia. Marc would focus on tyres and Antonio set-ups. The team, under sunny skies, was able to work though their test programme. Marc would complete ninety one laps with a best lap time of 1m:17.951m, while Antonio would put in a total of sixty nine laps with a best time of 1m:19.869m. Marc would focus on set-up options for the FW26 and tyre evaluation runs for tyre supplier Michelin. Antonio spent the day developing software components. WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager Tim Newton said: "We had a fairly productive session today, our first day back at Jerez. Antonio Pizzonia, deputising for Ralf while he recuperates from his accident in Indianapolis, spent the day developing software on the FW26 while Marc Gené concentrated on set-up work and tyre testing." |
