Webber raced with fractured rib

It was made public in the Australian media that BMW WilliamsF1 driver Mark Webber was carrying an injury, a broken rib, while racing in both Australia and Malaysia.

Webber received the injury when testing at Barcelona, as a result of the high G forces of the track and an seat that did not fit the Australian correctly. He was to fracture his rib and damage the surrounding rib cartilage.

Prior to the race in Australia there was some concern that he would not be able to race but with the help of physiotherapy and pain-killers he was able to take to the track. In Malaysia more of the same was required even though the injury was on the road to recovery.

This week has seen the WilliamsF1 team testing and it was decided to rest Mark in order to make sure that he was close to full fitness for this weeks race in Bahrain.
