Michael's Ferrari would find its way back to the Ferrari garage on the back of a truck.

The top ten was Montoya, Raikkonen, Zonta, Trulli, Barrichello, Coulthard, Alonso, Wurz, Ralf Schumacher, and Fisichella.

Button would change this moving into third with a 1m:22.544. As for the
WilliamsF1 driver Nick had improved his time to now be in seventh with a
1m:22.861. Mark was still down the order in sixteenth. Michael Schumacher had yet to set a time in the session. The fastest cars in the session were the McLaren's with the top speeds in the various sectors been shared between Montoya, Raikkonen, and Wurz.

The Red Bull of Klein would also jump up the order with the Austrian moving into
fourth with a 1m:22.626. Mark was now in twelfth with a 1m:22.935, while Nick was in ninth. Coulthard was now in tenth. Team-mate Liuzzi's first lap would see him in seventeenth with a time of 1m:23.874. Rubens was now in third with a 1m:21.914 braking into the 1nm:21 second bracket to join the McLaren's. Fernando would improve his time with a 1m:22.473 but not his position. Trulli would split the top McLaren's moving into second with a time of 1m:21.410. Nick and Mark were now in eleventh and thirteenth with under fifteen minutes remaining in the session.

The Sauber's of Villeneuve and Massa were in sixteenth and eighteenth positions. Ralf Schumacher was in fourteenth. Chanoch Nissany had not set a time or even completed a lap so far in the session. With just over ten minutes remain in the session Raikkonen was first from Trulli, Montoya, Barrichello, Wurz, Alonso, Button, Klien, Fisichella, and Zonta. The second Toyota of Ralf Schumacher would move into third behind team-mate Trulli with a time of 1m:21.631. The third Toyota of Zonta was in eleventh. The McLaren's continued to the cars with the highest top speeds.

Fisichella would spin his car in the final sector stalling the car and stopping out on the track, bringing out the yellow flags. With the final minutes of the session counting down we would have the usual flurry of drivers setting times and it would be Zonta who would go fastest with a 1m:20.409. But given his position of been the third Toyota driver not a lot of attention can be given to his very quick time. But it did support the fact that Toyota were looking very competitive on this track.

Responding to Zonta's time was fellow Friday driver Alex Wurz. He would put his McLaren into second with a 1m:20.519, 0.110 off Zonta's time. Kimi was third followed by Trulli and Ralf. Sixth to eighth was Montoya, Barrichello, and Alonso. Nick and Mark were still in twelfth and fifteenth as the session came to a close.
