Karthikeyan tests again for WilliamsF1

Jerez Test 14:12:2005 Day One
 

For the WilliamsF1 team it was another round of testing at the Jerez circuit with Mark Webber been joined by Narain Karthikeyan. This would be the second appearance of Narain with the team as we await the announcement as to who will be the teams third driver.

KartikeyanAt the end of the day Narain was quickest of the V8 runners finishing in second. He would set a time of 1m:19.170 to be almost a second ahead of Mark. But Mark's day of testing was hampered by gearbox problems that did not see him complete as make track time as Narain. Mark would finish in fifth with a time of 1m:19.529.

In an interview for Autosport Mark commented on the days testing by saying: "We need more time on the gearbox and on the engine. In fact this test is slightly better than expected but we lost a bit of time with the transmission today and it was so cold in the afternoon, we could not do any tyre programme. Hopefully we can develop more January."
