| Like their partner's BMW,
the WilliamsF1 team is not sitting back and enjoying the three week break
between the German and Hungarian Grand Prix. For the team it is a period of
intense activity working not only on improving the 2002 FW24 but also making
progress on the design and construction of the 2003 car.
For
WilliamsF1 Technical Director Patrick Head the team not only has to ensure
that both the teams drivers finish in either second or third in the drivers
championship and that the team comes away with second in the constructors
title. To ensure this the team is working on improvements on the FW24.
Head said on the BMW Motorsport website: "Most of the guys in the factory
will work like hell over the next few weeks. Although it's three weeks until
the Hungarian Grand Prix, there will be modifications."
But for the team, if they wish to make further steps forward come 2003,
there is also a huge amount of work to be done focusing on the 2003
WilliamsF1 car. This is work that has to be done in parallel with the
ongoing work on the FW24.
Patrick Head explained this
by saying: "We obviously want to try to finish second and third in the
drivers' championship and second in the constructors' championship. But all
the information will go ahead to next year." |
