WilliamsF1 commences two day Barcelona Test

After the disappointment of the double retirements at the recent Monaco Grand Prix the WilliamsF1 team was back out testing, preparing for the next round of the championship at Silverstone. Nico Rosberg was joined by team test driver Alex Wurz.

Nico's day was spent focusing on testing engine software followed by tyre testing in the afternoon. Wurz focussed on testing various aerodynamic components but his day would be spoilt by and accident late in the day that would see him crash at Turn nine.

WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager Mike Condliffe commented on the days testing by saying: “Nico and Alex were driving here today at the Circuit de Catalunya. Nico had a mixed test programme, including some engine control software, underbody temperature mappings, some set-up work and a short tyre test in the afternoon. Meanwhile, Alex was testing a family of aerodynamic parts for direct comparison all day, providing useful data for correlation with the wind tunnel. Unfortunately, just before the end of session, Alex suffered an impact. I am pleased to say that he is fine, but the car sustained some damage. Both drivers will be on duty again tomorrow for our last day.”
