The main problem with the new wing is teams are worried that the new device, which will help McLaren gain front downforce, may flex at high speed. Some teams are so worried that they have informed the FIA to keep a close watch on the new wing, so see if it flexes.

 The FIA is thinking on what to do on the matter, their solution to it is drastic, the FIA are thinking through banning winglets and possibly other aerodynamic devices, in aid of helping other chasing drivers from overtaking a car in front, as we have seen over the past few years as aerodynamics get better, overtaking is happening less.

 

 This would have had a noticeable effect on races this year. Fernando would of got in front of Lewis at Australia, and Kimi would of certainly beaten Lewis in Malaysia.

 

 There is also a good chance that Lewis would of won in Bahrain, but instead of looking into the past, lets look to what the future holds for Formula One.

 

 If the FIA do ban devices like McLaren’s front wing design and other aerodynamic flaps, all the teams will be slower out of corners, the need for development of cleaner aerodynamic flaps, E.G the air that comes off the car will not effect the other car behind it. This will be a challenge, but it may be the best way forward.
