McLaren's Jenson Button has followed in the prestigious footsteps of his 2010 teammate Lewis Hamilton to receieving an MBE from the Queen. Button was named in the Queen's New Years Honours List to become a Member of the Order of the British Empire thanks to his services to motor sport.
Jenson is quoted by the BBC as saying, "This really is the crowning glory to what has been the most incredible year of my life."
Button's former team boss, Ross Brawn, will go one better and be appointed an OBE due to his services to motor sport which, with the withdrawal of Honda, should not be underestimated in Britain.
Button will be honoured at Buckingham Palace in the New Year.
I dont get why normal people cant get MBE's? Those hard working citizens (you all know who you are) that get up every day and work their butts off, only to be taxed by the government for their efforts... however some Brits work their bums off for a season of F1, win the world championship, escape tax by living in other countries and then get an MBE.

The vast majority who get MBEs are ordinary people, you don't hear about them because the papers aren't interested in them.
