Scuderia Toro Rosso is holding off on making any offical driver line up announcement until February 6 in Bahrain. In the meantime, Gerhard Berger wants Vitantonio Liuzzi and Scott Speed to show that they are committted to giving their all on the track.
While team co-owner Gerhard Berger has repeatedly stated that 2006 drivers Vitantonio Liuzzi and Scott Speed are in "pole position" to retain their seats, he recently expressed a certain degree of dissatisfaction with their work ethic. In spite of the STR/RBR image of being a more laid-back and "fun" sort of F1 operation, Berger has questions about Tonio and Scott's focus. "You don't see superstars like Schumacher and Alonso at too many parties," he told the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport. After outlining a "more serious" set of goals for the Faenza-based squad, he added: "If they also share these goals, they will sit in our cars. If they do not, a further cooperation would be a waste of time."
