Tost Uses YouTube to Accuse Hamilton

The uproar, and perhaps the fallout, from the incident filled Japanese GP is still heavy in the air at Shanghai. Now it is race winner Lewis Hamilton who's actions last Sunday have come under srcutiny. The 'accusor' is STR's Team Principle, Franz Tost. And the 'evidence'? A video posted on YouTube.

Upset with the ten grid spot penalt assesed to Sebastian Vettel after his collision with RBR's Mark Webber, Tost presented the FIA with a link to a clip on the popular video-sharing website, taken by a fan in the stands, showing the three lead cars following the Saftey Car for several seconds preceeding the incident, and ending with the wreck itself.

Tost wanted to show that both Vettel's and Webber's claim that Hamilton was driving in an erratic fasion just prior to the incident was correct and should be taken into account as a mitigating circumstance. "You could see quite clearly that Hamilton slows down quite unexpectedly," Tost told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper, "Sebastian would have had to have gone between the cars [Webber and Hamilton] and there was no chance. It was totally unexpected. It looked like Hamilton was stopping, [and] that is why I went to the stewards."

If the FIA decides to rule against Hamilton, they could strip him of the championship points that he was awarded for winning the Japanese GP or exclude him from this weekend's Chinese GP.
