Toro Rosso's lead driver for the 2009 series is former Formula 3000 and US Champ Car Champion Sebastien Bourdais.

Sebastian has shown phenomanal racing integrity and posseses a rare raw talent which combined has produced a man with a huge potential to have a successful career in Formula 1. 

Born in Le Mans, France in 1979, Sebastian started his career in the French Minimes Karting Championship moving all the way up to the Maine Bretagne Championship in 3 years. He became the Champion of the Le Mans 24 Hour Karting Championship and has competed in the French Formula Renault Championship, French Formula Three, Formula 3000, Champ Car World State and now Formula 1.

Sebastian finished 17th in the 2008 Formula 1 Championship and will be looking to build on the 4 points he earned in his maidan Championship.
