While Scuderia Toro Rosso has yet to set an offical 'launch date' for the roll out of their 2012 car, they have today announced that the STR7 has cleared all FIA-mandated saftey tests. Furthermore, it will be ready to participate on the first pre-season tests, set to begin on February 7 in Jerez, Spain.
"We now know the car is strong enough and as from 7 February in Jerez, we can start work on making it quick and reliable," a team source reported in a press release posted on the team's website.
The test will run from Feb 7-10, followed by two more sessions (at Barcelona) Feb 21-24 and March 1-4. There is no word yet as to how the testing duties will be divided up between Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne.
