Pedro returns the compliment.

de la Rosa

Perhaps one of the worst things that can happen to an F1 driver is to get absolutely slated by no, not the press but your own team mate! The normally mild mannered Pedro De la Rosa has urged the Jaguar team to get shot of Irish motormouth Eddie Irvine.

"Working with Irvine has been the worst part of the season. He's very inconsistent with his decisions and it's very hard to work with him, especially when things are going wrong.

"When things are going right everybody is happy, but when things go wrong you have to be united, and that has been very hard with him.

Irvine berated De La Rosa at the beginning of the season, accusing him of not picking up on design flaws, thereby delaying the cars development.

"We hardly talked at the start of the season, and as the races went by we stopped talking to each other. In the final races we didn't even look at each other's eyes." He told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.

Asked if Irvine would stay at Jaguar next year he said "Well, I'm not the one responsible for this, but as far as I know he won't. I hope he won't."

Irvine has been critical of most things Jaguar this season and this probably hasn't helped his position in the team. If Nikki Lauda is looking to drop Irvine then Jordan is probably the Ulsterman's last hope for a drive next season.
