Jos Verstappen has been given an F1 lifeline as he gets set to test the EJ14 for a day during Jordans test session at Silverstone in early June.

The team are currently getting ready for the next Grand Prix in Spain but the fans attention will turn from the race to the fact that "The Boss" is back.  Well for the day at least!

Jos attended the factory in Silverstone for a seat fitting.  Although he will be testing, his manager Raymond Vermeulen said; "People should not jump to any conclusions about this, it just follows on from the conversation that Michel Perridon and Eddie Jordan had earlier in Dordrecht, with Ian Phillips and me.  It is good to see that Jos will be driving a F1 car again, and we look forward to seeing how the test goes and whether it helps for the future."

"I still don't know what to expect from this test." He said. "We will see at the beginning of June.  If everything goes as planned I will be testing for the whole day at Silverstone. But first let's concentrate on having my seat done. It is quiet at the factory, since the Jordan mechanics are already in Barcelona for the coming Grand Prix. I am happy that I will be able to drive again and I will also see Eddie Jordan again, as it’s been some time since I had direct contact with him.  I am really curious to see what it’s like with the Jordan team and how they will react to me, what they want to tell me." About Jordan’s season so far Jos said, "I cannot really say anything, as I am not driving. Maybe I will be able to give my opinion after the test session in June. In any case I am happy with the chance to drive a Formula 1 car again, at the moment this is the most important thing for me."

Eddie Jordan said, "I think it is fantastic that this test will offer Jos some attention in Formula 1 and I am happy that this has been done with the co-operation of our loyal sponsor Trust.  I believe Jos has a future in Formula 1 and I hope that this test will be positive and helpful in some way with regards to that future."

So should Timo fear for his seat?  I doubt that Jordan's third driver has much to fear from Verstappen but it is great to see Jos back behind the wheel and let's hope that his input will help push the team further up the grid.
