Fresh from his holiday in Brazil Rubens Barrichello was in attendance at the FIA press conference this afternoon in Hungary. Along with R Schumacher, D Coulthard and Juan Montoya the Brazilian driver faced the questions from the amassed media. Barrichello stated his strong wish to take the second place in the drivers title and make the season even more complete for Ferrari.

“I have finished fourth and I have finished third,” said Barrichello. “So of course, it would be nice to do better. I have the support of the team and second place would be welcome right now.”

Bad luck has played a major role in the Barrichello season but he is still refusing to give in to this unlucky spell and feels that all these problems are just a coincidence. As long as the team and himself are learning from them and making sure they don’t happen again then Barrichello is confident that his race winning chances are as good as Michael Schumacher’s.

“I have to think these problems are just a coincidence, because that is exactly what they are,” he maintained. “It would be stupid to think otherwise, because the team certainly does not want to see the car up on jacks at the start of the race. All three of the problems I experienced in the last races have been different. The important thing is to learn from these problems to ensure they do not happen again.”
