Ferrari looking strong for the race

Ferrari prepared for the race by setting the 2nd and 4th fastest times in Sunday’s warm up session. Rubens Barrichello was the fastest of the duo as both worked on their race set-up. R Schumacher in the Williams was quickest.

With only 30 minutes available most teams were lined up in the pitlane ready for the green lights. Both Ferrari’s were out for straight away for their installation lap. Rubens Barrichello has use of the spare car again this weekend and his session will be made up from jumping between his race and spare car just to get a feel for both in race trim. Michael Schumacher will be feeling bored once more as he only gets to try out his race chassis.

Nothing unusual for Ferrari in the warm up both Michael and Rubens practised some race starts and both swept over their grid positions on the dirty side of the grid. Barrichello was jumping between cars and he ended the session in second place and he had a slight off track moment when he was going fastest. Schumacher ended the session in fourth as he scrubbed in some new tyres for the race.

Unusually for Williams Ralf Schumacher who topped the times but in a lot of laps suggesting that maybe Williams have left his qualifying engine in for the morning session. Montoya was third and he appeared to be less willing to run his engine. So Ferrari are looking strong for the race just as are Williams so we should be in for a great race this afternoon.
