Ferrari will still not let Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello race against each other in the way other teams may allow with their drivers. Ross Brawn has said that the team spirit and friendly rivalry between the drivers is not work risking for the sake of racing to please others. With Barrichello’s win at Monza he has almost certainly secured 2nd place in the drivers title but orders will remain to keep the team together.

"This is a nice team and a nice group of people,” said Ross. “Our strength includes the drivers’ relationship and how they enjoy working with each other. People talk about Williams and McLaren and how they let their guys race other when they were in our position, but look what happened – they ended up hating each other and it divided the team.”

"That won’t happen here. I don’t want to destroy the team spirit here. Rubens and Michael are two team members and that’s the way they will continue to operate."
