Sunday warm-up normally gives the team’s a final chance to finalise their race settings for the GP later today. It will also give a good indication as to what strategy teams will be using but at Indy it seems that a 1 stop race will be the normal for all teams. With only 30 minutes of running available Michael Schumacher was quickly out on track as the lights go green. Rubens Barrichello is also on track and he returns to the pits and quickly jumps into the spare car to take that out for a run.

Michael is quick to put in a fast lap and move to the top of the times with a 1.13.487. Schumacher continues to lap, as does Barrichello who is sweeping over his grid position to try and keep the track that little bit cleaner. 1.14.241 is the best for Rubens so far and with 10 minutes to go he lies in seventh place. Schumacher is knocked off the top by Panis in the BAR with the session coming to an end. Both F2002’s are out on track and Michael makes sure his launch control is functioning correctly before taking to the track for another run.

Barrichello begins to improve his times and laps in a 1.13.707 to go third but he is soon to move to the front with a 1.13.321 but Schumacher is looking quicker and it is the German who goes fastest once more with a 1.13.183. Barrichello continues to lap but his pace is dropping off as his tyres lose their best performance. No real drama’s in the closing stages for the Ferrari duo who are looking very strong for the race ahead.
