Eddie Irvine has said that Mika Hakkinen wont return to Formula one next season. Irvine who is never backwards in coming forwards says that the Finn wont return and why should he when the McLaren team are being thrashed by Ferrari.

"Hakkinen turned up at the start of proceedings to explain he still had not made up his mind and would probably decide his future in the next few weeks," Irvine said. "Take it from me, he will not be back. He told me as much last season and I see no reason why he should change his mind. Why would he give up retirement and climb back into a McLaren that is continually being thrashed by the Ferrari’s? The only reason for a comeback would be because he needed the money. But I bet he has a few quid stashed away."
