After surviving a spectacular spin to take second place in the European Grand Prix, Michael Schumacher spent much of Sunday night celebrating amongst other things, the fact he has extended his lead in the Drivers’ classification to 46 points.

However, party time did not last long, given that this week will be busy one for the Ferrari men. This morning, Michael will be a guest of the Bergisch-Gladbach road transport authority along with FIA President Max Mosley, to present the results of a crash test study. “I have been involved in safety work for several years, because I believe it is very important, not only in Formula 1, but also on the roads,” explained Michael.
Immediately after that, the German driver, along with his father Rolf, will open “The world of the Schumachers” exhibition at the Kerpen kart track; an event Michael has been looking forward to. “I am very proud of what my father and his colleagues have created,” said the championship leader. “It is a really impressive exhibition and it is good to see how, through scrupulous efforts, they have managed to find and recreate so much material, for example photos and film footage I didn’t know existed. It is really very nice.” The show opens to the public on 1st July and is bound to pull in the fans.”
Somehow, Michael also plans to find the time to watch today’s World Cup semi-final between Germany and South Korea. In the late afternoon, he will then head for Paris, where he will attend the FIA World Council tomorrow for the hearing into events at the Austrian Grand Prix. Joining Michael will be Scuderia Ferrari Managing Director Jean Todt and the Nurburgring winner, Rubens Barrichello. On Friday, Michael will test the F2002 at Mugello.
Not surprisingly, given this hectic schedule in the week before the British GP, Michael chose to spend the day after the European race relaxing with his family.
