For Ferrari’s Technical Partner, Shell, Michael Schumacher’s third title with Ferrari is also Shell’s 21st. The World Champion’s place in the Shell role of honour alongside Alberto Ascari, Graham Hill and Ayrton Senna is assured, such is the success of Michael. As you can imagine the leading figures at Shell were delighted with the race result.

Speaking after the race, Shell Trackside Manger Tobias Tasche said, “Michael and Ferrari’s success today is as special as ever, but perhaps made all the more sweet as we brought a new fuel to Mangy Cours this weekend. It had an improved balance between power and fuel economy. Michael stayed on track longer than most of his competitors before his pits stop today, highlighting the good fuel economy we can provide.”

“There are more than 50 people in Shell contributing to this project. They are based all over the world, but they have all contributed to today’s victory.”

Juan Carlos Perez, Shell Global Sponsorship Manager was delighted with the result. “Shell has succeeded again at the highest level,” he said. “The Formula One World Drivers’ Championship has been won in record time with six races to go. More importantly, this success on the track will be making its way through to road car products in the near future. As the Shell engineers pack their equipment away to return to the UK, they will be taking some of the winning formula used in France to Shell products all over the world.”
