Team Summary:
The second Friday practice for the 2022 Bahrain GP would get underway with a
rush of drivers coming out including both Williams drivers. This session
would be run under the lights of the Bahrain circuit as Magnussen set a
1m:34.572 on the medium tyre but Sainz would move ahead with a 1m:33.837 now
followed by Ocon. Leclerc was now fastest with a 1m:33.121 from Sainz and
Ocon. Alonso was now third followed by Hamilton, Ocon, Zhou, Magnussen,
Russell, Gasly and Bottas tenth. On the medium tyre Verstappen was now
second behind Leclerc. The Williams drivers were 17th and 19th as Bottas
went fourth.
On the soft tyre Hulkenberg, who was replaced Covid infected Vettel, would
move up to sixth. But as more soft tyre times weer set Magnussen was now
second followed by Norris, Ocon, Verstappen, Sainz, Stroll, Bottas,
Hulkenberg, and Perez tenth. But Alonso would go quickest with a 1m:32.877
now followed by Sainz and Leclerc. Leclerc would again be quickest with a
1m:32.263 from Alonso and Sainz. Magnussen was now fourth followed by
team-mate Schumacher. IT would continue to change as we now had Verstappen
quickest with a 1m:31.936 from Leclerc, Alonso, Bottas, Perez, Sainz,
Schumacher, Magnussen, Norris, and Ocon tenth. The Williams pair were
currently 19th and 20th.
Leclerc was now second and Russell had moved into third. Hamilton was now
ninth with both Williams drivers back in their pits. But we would see one
car return then both with ten minutes remaining in the session. As the final
minutes counted down the order was Verstappen, Leclerc, Sainz, Russell,
Alonso, Bottas, Perez, Schumacher, Hamilton and Magnussen tenth. The
Williams drivers were to remain in 19th and 20th as the session came to an
end. Again the drivers would be allowed to complete practice starts prior to
returning to the pits.
Alex Albon:
Albon was first out in the second Friday session running on the medium tyre.
But he would pit after a single lap not setting a time. He would quickly
return but his first timed lap was a 1m:54.256 which was exceedingly slow.
But he would improve with a 1m:36.163 to be 17th. Alex would comment to his
engineer "The actual car balance is pretty good". He would drop to 18th and
would pit after a seven lap run. He would return on the soft tyre and would
set a 1m:34.735 to see him only 19th. He would dropt o be slowest as he
returned again on the medium tyre. He would complete nine laps on the medium
tyre with the end of the session.
Nicholas Latifi:
Nicholas would follow his team-mate for the session also using the medium
tyre. His first timed lap was a 1m:37.613 to be 12th. But it was very early
days in the session. This would become 17th even though he set a 1m:36.489.
After a six lap run Nicholas would pit currently 18th. He would return
currently 20th this time on the soft tyre. He would set a 1m:34.486 to be
13th. He would drop to 18th and would pit after a five lap run. This would
become 19th and was one place ahead of team-mate Alex. With twenty five
minutes remaining Nicholas would return but on the medium. After a three lap
run he would pit returning to a used soft tyre. He would be on a longer un
on this tyre and would complete 14 laps with the end of the session. |
