High Expectations may be tough for Senna

Expectation: Senna

The return of the Senna name to Formula One may carry huge expectations for Bruno Senna in his debut year. Senna has completed the transition to Formula One where his late Uncle Ayrton claimed three world championships.

“I hope Bruno is quick because there is unfortunately an unimaginably great expectation on his shoulders,” said Williams boss Frank Williams, “I just wish him well. It’s important for the family that he does extremely well.”

Williams was the team in which his uncle Ayrton drove for at that tragic San Marino Grand Prix at Imola in 1994.

Ross Brawn also voiced his opinion on Senna’s appointment. “It’s a great opportunity for Bruno and I look forward to seeing how well he does,” said the Brawn GP boss, “It’s important he does well because obviously the name is great. But it would be a shame if he doesn’t do well because of course that carries the name as well.”

Senna tested for the Honda team last year before they were rescued by Ross Brawn and he was close to signing for the team until they opted for an experienced line up in Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. It was a partnership that rendered two world championships in an extraordinary debut season for the team.

To be honest I think its the media that add the pressure to rookie drivers and with Bruno having the Senna name its a media frenzy. He just needs to get his head down and shut all this expectation out because at the end of the day I would much rather him be remembered as being Bruno Senna and not Ayrton Senna's legacy

I hope that Senna won't be another Piquet or Grosjean, but rather another Kobayashi tongue sticking out smiley

The pressure doesn't effect Bruno at all smiling smiley he's used to it and knows whoever looks at him as a name doesn't deserve his attention. He knows he's not Ayrton and just goes and proves that Bruno Senna is a man of himself.

FORZA BRUNO!!!!

Senna will be the real deal- I just hope people will notice his efforts, even if it's securing 14th position on the grid out of 26.

I agree, I've been following him in the GP2 and hes a real fighter, he proved that when he was up against Pantano for the GP2 title in 2008.

I like him very much, I'm sure he will perform good, not only because of his name, but because he has talent
