Kimi Raikkonen
Spanish Grand Prix: Did Not Finish - Electrical Failure

Kimi Raikkonen has admitted that he is extremely disappointed with his race failure at the Grand Prix of Spain. Raikkonen was set to take his fourth podium finish in a row, until an electrical failure in his F2007 ended his challenge prematurely. This is what Kimi had to say:

"Honestly, there's little to say, except that I'm very disappointed. I lost a place to Hamilton at the start, but made the most of the fight between Felipe and Fernando to get back to third place. I was running at a good pace and could have had a good result, but suddenly the car had an electrical problem and all I could was come back to the garage. I have lost precious points but there are still thirteen races to recover."

Raikkonen drops from joint first in the Drivers' Championship to fourth, behind Hamilton, Alonso and Massa. Many have immediately attacked Kimi for his result, though those individuals obviously do not understand how a Formula 1 car works. An electrical problem is not the fault of the driver. Raikkonen is performing very well and would be second in the Championship if not for the F2007 letting him down in Spain. Ferrari fans need to give Kimi a break and look realistically at his performances.
