It just goes to show that there is always something in the rumours. Today it has emerged that Craig Pollock is connected with a deal to purchase the Arrows team, and that he is still waiting for an answer from Tom Walkinshaw about his latest offer... The revelation came from the Swiss media, in a quote already carried by a number of the leading F1 news sites.

“I began the discussions four months ago. I quoted a price and then withdrew, because the figure given by Arrows did not match the one I had made. I then contacted Tom Walkinshaw again, and I remade an offer on Thursday evening. I am now waiting for his answer,” Pollock has been quoted as saying.

“I am in no hurry. Because the more this goes on the less expensive it will be. I don’t think Arrows intends to go to the next Grand Prix unless a solution is found by then. And the next race is next Sunday.”

In contrast to that last paragraph, sources available to this site have spotted the Arrows trucks on their way to the channel tunnel, presumably on route to the Hungarian circuit.

“I am very realistic. The purchase of Arrows is not something which I want so much that it prevents me from sleeping. If it does not happen at least I would have tried. But I would say there is an 80 per cent chance that it will happen.”

A well informed, but secretive, message board contributor has indicated that an announcement on the team’s new owners, and who will partner Enrique Bernoldi, will be made by the team tomorrow (Monday). A previous announcement was due on Friday, but failed to materialise.
