Heinz-Harald Frentzen's garage bound troubles were solved for the start of the fourth and final free practice session, and the German was quick to show the potential of the A23. A small engine fire ended his session early, but that didn't stop the team from finishing practice just outside the top 10 The track temperature had risen slightly for the fourth and final free practice session at Sepang. Heinz-Harald Frentzen is quick to take to the track once the session opens, his car problems presumably resolved for now.

Frentzen's first quick lap places him 8th, and just behind him Enrique Bernoldi improves on his quick time set in the 3rd session to take 10th. Frentzen's 8th is quickly knocked back to 9th by the Jordan of Giancarlo Fisichella.

Jaguar's Pedro de la Rosa still seems to be the major Cosworth threat, slotting into 8th spot shortly after. Enrique Bernoldi quicky answers snatching 8th from the Spaniard. Frentzen's times are placing him comfortably in 12th at this point.

The track temperature rose again with 15 minutes to go, and this seems to suit Frentzen as he moves up to 11th, but his progress is halted as his car is seen in the pitlane with smoke billowing out of the back. The Arrows mechanics rush with fire extinguishers to extinguish a small fire, and that marks the end of the session for OrangeArrows.

By the end of the session Enrique had improved to 12th, but Frentzen's premature end to the session has lost him track time and 11th has become 13th.

It's still a very strong performance from the OrangeArrows team and sets them up nicely for the qualifying hour. A repeat performance during qualifying would be very handy for the race on Sunday.
