Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Enrique Bernoldi had a very quiet 2nd free practice session, with the intermediate-verging-on-wet conditions probably to blame. Very few drivers made any gains in this session, OrangeArrows included, but Frentzen's top 6 time remained at the head of the pack by the finish. For the start of the second session the track had dried somewhat, but there were still large puddles of standing water at a variety of places on the circuit.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen lost his superb first session position of 5th in the the first 7 minutes to an improving David Coulthard, bumping the German down to 6th.

Frentzen took to the track himself with 14 minutes of the session gone, but failed to improve his time. Most of the drivers appear to be using intermediate tyres at this point but Kimi Raikonen, Nick Heidfeld, and Ralf Schumacher all had a number of slides and spins indicating just how slippery the track still is. Despite the incidents a dry line has started to appear.

Enrique took to the track for the first time in the second session in the 25th minute. He is currently 18th, and does a 3 lap run without improving his time. He is back out again 15 minutes later and despite setting a personal best sector 1 split time, still fails to improve on his 18th fastest time.

Both drivers took to the track in the last 10 minutes of the session, but were unable to further improve their times.

This sixth placed result from Frentzen is encouraging to see, but we should be careful not to draw too much from it. The second session saw very little running, probably due to the difficult track conditions whereby the team would not have learned much. Never the less it is great to see an Arrows car in the top 6, but disappointing that Enrique Bernoldi was not able to join his team mate at the head of the table.
