OrangeArrows created quite a stir last year when Nikki Lauda and Tom Walkinshaw announced that Arrows were going to be using Cosworth power. It now looks like Fordare prepared to expand their commitment to F1 and supply a third team ! The motoring paper Motorsport News has run an article that suggests that the Jordan team could be next to use the Cosworth unit, perhaps as early as 2003. Currently Jordan use Honda power, as do BAR, and both these teams are alone in the fact that neither have yet to score any World Championship points. Rumours suggest that BAR have been successfully massaging thier relationship with Honda to the extent that it looks likely that Jordan will lose Honda next year.

The article suggests that Ford are gearing up to supply more customer engines, and could prove to be a useful alternative to Honda power next year. OrangeArrows have consistently outperformed the similarly powered Jaguar cars, and look set to continue that trend.

The current CR3 engine is reportedly one of the most powerful in the field, a fact recognised by Jaguar's Niki Lauda. "The Cosworth CR3 is capable of better things than we are showing, as Arrows proved in Barcelona," Lauda was quoted as saying recently.
