The Arrows test team are working again this week, this time at the major public test at Silverstone circuit. Every time the team have devoted some resources to testing the performance of the A23 has improved. Surely a good sign for the next race in Canada. This week sees the biggest F1 test of the year at Silverstone circuit. Traditionally it is the test that is attended by the entire grid, as it is the last test at the circuit before the British Grand Prix in July. In 2001 every team bar Minardi attended this test and this is the best chance of the fans to see their favourite team in action without having to pay GP prices.

OrangeArrows will only be testing on two of the three days this week, Wednesday and Thursday, with Enrique Bernoldi at the wheel for both days. Heinz-Harald Frentzen will, no doubt, be enjoying a well earned rest after his points scoring finish in Monaco.

In a related development, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) have recently banned teams from using screens to block the views into the garages, for reasons of safety - and to allow FIA scrutineers and pit observers to do their jobs.

“No screen, cover or other obstruction which in any way obscures any part of a car will be allowed at any time in the pit lane or garages, save with the express permission in each case of the FIA safety delegate,” the FIA said in a statement in Monaco. Although Arrows do not use these screens themselves, it’ll be interesting to see whether the grid honour this ban at public tests as well as the Grand Prix.
