Heinz-Harald Frentzen has given a recent interview for a British newspaper, where he makes it quite clear that he is very happy driving for a small team like Arrows. Having now bounced back from the Jordan sacking, Frentzen believes he is back at the top of his game. It has already been well documented that Heinz-Harald was sacked from the Jordan team just before his home race in Germany last year. He had little choice but to take a seat with the struggling Prost team, who went into receivership just before the beginning of this season. Frentzen then controversially replaced Jos Verstappen at Arrows, and has worked hard at developing the 2002 car.

The fruits of the team’s work showed up in Spain and Monaco where two sixth placed finishes scored the team their first valuable World Championship points. The German is also tutoring Enrique Bernoldi, who is slowly beginning to close the gap to his more experienced team-mate.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, Frentzen has been quoted as saying, “What happened at Jordan was a shock. My reputation suffered and I had to start again from zero to continue in Formula One.”

“I’m not as good as ever, I’m better than ever. I believe I have the experience and understanding of the car that makes me better now. I am also as motivated as ever.”

“It helps, of course, when you have people who want to work with you and believe in you.”

“I try to get the best out of myself and the team and I think I am achieving that. Our point in Monaco keeps the momentum going.” We have the chance to be consistent midfield runners. Scoring points puts you under pressure to score more, but it is the right kind of pressure - a pressure I enjoy.”
