Arrows driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen has hinted that Jordan just might be his home again in 2003, if the current financial crisis at Arrows isn’t resolved. This would be a strange move for the German, as the Jordan team sacked him last year... “I have to say, Deutsche Post is quite keen to have a German driver,” Frentzen has been quoted as saying. “But I think to go back to Eddie’s [Jordan] team there has to be something sorted which is quite important; I didn’t sack Eddie, Eddie sacked me.”

“They are two people who I really think are good for the team,” he continued. “I have great faith in them. Gary [Anderson] was basically the father of the 1999 Jordan, and Henri [Durand] I knew from Prost, and he was a pretty good guy to work with. It would be nice to work with them again.”

“I need a decision for the future here within the team really and that ... will happen now in August, I am quite sure about that. I am talking to a couple of teams and I am thinking of the future, but if it is with Arrows I can’t tell you at the moment.”

“I am certainly not thinking of stopping, otherwise it would have been a good moment here in Hockenheim to say I am retiring.”

On a personal note, I’d like to see Frentzen stay with the team for another year. I believe he has been largely responsible for the improvement in form of Enrique Bernoldi, and his talents have developed the A23 into a fantastic car, and he’s given the team some gritty drives so far in the 2002 season. Assuming that Arrows continue to use the Cosworth engine in 2003, there is potential there for a better season next year – and it would be nice for Frentzen to lead it for the team.
