WilliamsF1 to test Toyota engines

After making their announcement that the team will be using Toyota engines in 20007 the team has now revealed that they will be testing Toyota engines in September.

The team will use an interim Fw28 as they work on the new engine and the changeover from the Cosworth.

When interviewed at the Hungarian Grand Prix team boss Frank Williams said: "We are running our new engine in September, as early as that. That is when we start. It (the Toyota) is a very proven unit. Cooperation has begun behind the scenes obviously."

As for the move from the current Cosworth engine to  Toyota units it will be something that the team can look back at the few major problems that they had moving from BMW to Cosworth units.

Williams added: "Moving to Cosworth, while it wasn't seamless, it wasn't a cock up in any way. We had some problems with our car in terms of transmission, but they had fewer problems than we had. I don't remind myself of any major difficulties in communication or technically, except on our side I think."
