The AT&T
Williams team would move to the Valencia circuit for a further three days
test for the new FW29,. The day would be damp in the morning, but improved
to be sunny and bright in the afternoon.
The
Williams team would not follow the rest of the teams to test at Bahrain but
preferred to stay in Europe. Alex Wurz would be joined by test driver Kazuki
Nakajima. Alex would finish the day at the top of the times followed by
Kazuki.
The Japanese driver would bring out a red flag when he went off at the first
corner.
AT&T Williams Test Team Manager
Dickie Stanford commented:
“On our first day here in Valencia, Alex carried out set-up work on his car
while
Kazuki concentrated on long runs in the morning followed by a race distance,
complete with pit-stops, in the afternoon. We had a couple of small problems
early on in the morning session but the team resolved them quickly. Alex
finished running earlier in the day to allow the team to complete some
necessary changes on the car in time for tomorrow’s session.”
