On a dry and
sunny day the AT&T Williams team would commence their final three day test prior to
the first race in Australia. Rather than join the majority of teams at the
Bahrain circuit the Williams team moved to Barcelona after their recent
Valencia test.
The
team focused on longer runs with the FW29 as well as testing aero upgrades
for the race in Melbourne. At the end of the day Nico Rosberg would set the
fastest time, 1m:21.624, finishing ahead of team-mate Alexander Wurz.
AT&T Williams Test Team Manager Dickie Stanford commented: “Nico tested the
Melbourne aero upgrade today and then spent the rest of the session carrying
out long runs. He completed a full race distance, together with pit stops
and refuelling. Alex, meanwhile, worked on mapping and set-up tests. Both
Nico and Alex will continue here tomorrow in preparation for Australia.”
