Rosberg in excellent 2nd in second Monaco Practice

AT&T Williams driver Nico Rosberg would finish in an excellent second in the second Thursday practice for the 2008 Monaco GP. Team-mate Kazuki Nakajima would back him up with an encouraging eighth, after having been fifteenth in the opening practice. Nico was happy with his progress and was comfortable with the setup of his car. Kazuki was beginning to get to grips with the circuit and his car.

The second Friday practice session would see the AT&T Williams drivers Nico Rosberg and Kazuki Nakajima finish in second and eighth. Nico would set his time halfway through the session after having switched to the softer option tyre and as a result move to the top of the times. He was able to beat the McLaren of Hamilton who was fastest early on in the session.

RosbergNico would only remain in this position for a short ten minute period as Hamilton was able to, also using the softer Bridgestone's, improved with a 1m:15.140, beating Nico's time by just under four tenths of a second.

Rosberg was able to remain in second ahead of Ferrari duo Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa, with Heikki Kovalainen fifth in the second McLaren. Team-mate Kazuki Nakajima was able to improve from his previous fifteenth position to an encouraging eighth.

Several drivers, including both Renaults would have accidents. The Renaults would both have crashes at Sainte Devote. Several other drivers also had to short-cut the chicane, seeing both Jarno Trulli and Adrian Sutil strike the barriers.
