	Gene signs for further year

It was announced that Marc Gene has extended his test driver contract with the BMW WilliamsF1 team, his third year. Gene commented on his signing by saying: "I'm very happy to stay with Williams for another year. Only this team can offer the quality that I want. To be with such a professional and successful team in F1 is not an easy task. This season has been very intense and I have done more than 18,000 kilometres, an unattainable number in another team. "This shows the confidence that the team has in me." For team boss Frank Williams has been impressed with the role that Gene has been able to play. Williams said: "Marc is a tireless worker who is well attuned with the way we operate. The job that he has done so far for our team has contributed significantly to our performance on track and Marc's continued support will be necessary if we are to fulfil our aspirations to return to a winning position."
