The second day
of testing for the AT&T Williams Team at the circuit Jerez de la
Frontera in Spain would see heavy showers interrupt the test test schedule,
while Kazuki Nakajima had taken over the
testing duties from Dani Clos.
Kazuki
would continue set-up work on the interim FW30B chassis. At the end of day Kazuki
would set a time that would see him seventh fastest with a 1m:21.338. He
would complete fifty eight laps.
Late in the morning Kazuki would cause a
brief red-flag situation. The Japanese driver had to park his Williams off
the track, the cause is still unknown. He would have another problem which
would again see him stop in the
middle of the afternoon.
Williams F1 Test Team Manager Dickie Stanford commented on the days test:
“Heavy rain showers interrupted the majority of today’s session so we spent
much of the time in the garage. During the time we did get on track, Kazuki
ran through set-up configurations on the FW30B and testing the slick tyres.
Nico joins us for the last two days of the test and will continue work on
our development programme.”
