| It was previously reported
that BMW Motorsport Director Gerhard Berger was uncertain about his future
with BMW. He has now has said that he will make a decision about his future
before Christmas. Berger's contract with BMW finishes in August 2003.
In
an interview for Kicker magazine Berger said: "(I have to decide) whether I
want more free time or whether I want to continue working hard in Formula
One."
Berger added: "The new season starts in March and August will come around in
no time."
Berger also spoke of BMW's
link with WilliamsF1. He stated that BMW would be negotiating an extension
to its agreement with WilliamsF1 beyond 2004 when the current agreement
expires.
As was previously reported BMW has three options, that of continuing as an
engine supplier to WilliamsF1, building its own car, or withdrawing from
Formula One. As for the possibility of BMW become a part owner of WilliamsF1
Berger said: "It's not on the list for discussion. BMW wants to be more
involved in technical matters." |
