Williams
to run F-Duct System
Williams is set
to run its version of McLaren's F-Duct system for the first time at the
Chinese Grand Prix. Only the Sauber team has joined McLaren in introducing
such a system.
The concept allows drivers to stall the rear wings on the straights by
covering a hole in ducting running through the cockpit.
When questioned by the Autosport magazine Williams Technical Director Sam
Michael said: "We should have it in Shanghai. We will start running it in
practice, but it might take us a few weekends to sort it out before we race
with it. If you can get some speed advantage that McLaren has got, you'd
probably run maximum wing all the time so you'd end up with a lot more
downforce."
