Brabham supports Mark Webber

With mark Webber signing for the jaguar Formula One team he is now receiving support from various quarters, including former triple World Champion Jack Brabham.

Brabham has spoken of his belief that the Jaguar team will improve next season. After the teams positive steps forward in the later part of the 2002 season Brabham feels that this progress will continue.

"Mark did a very, very good job in his first year with Minardi," Brabham said. "He proved that he's quite capable of driving a Formula One car."

Jaguar has chosen Webber because it believes his true abilities will come to the fore with more resources to develop the machinery.

"Mark now has the opportunity to move forward," he added. "I've got a feeling that Jaguar is going to go a lot better in 2003 than in 2002.

"Mark could be in the right place at the right time. In a couple of races towards the end of the season the Jaguar was in the points. Its Cosworth engine is doing a pretty job. I think they could be a very good combination in 2003. It's a good place for Mark to be."
